This 2 hr workshop is designed to give you a break from caring within a trauma informed, non-judgmental space. You may also learn more about what you can do to support yourself. Caring is rewarding and profoundly meaningful but but working with aging, disability, mental health issues, trauma or illness can be taxing on your own nervous system. You may be caring for parent, child, sibling, partner or caring in a professional role. You are worthy of support and respite.
We’ll spend a little time discussing the warning signs of burn-out and what the fight, flight, freeze, fawn and flop responses look like in adults. But this isn’t a lecture. We’re here to experience how to manage stress and regulate our own nervous system. We’ll incorporate gentle yoga, restorative yoga, self-compassion meditation and breathing techniques.
