After a brief introduction in my teens, I ‘rediscovered’ yoga in my mid-twenties as a way to control my weight and back pain. It began as a physical pursuit but, as is the case for many, I found that the joy and peace that came from the class compelled me to learn more. I arrived quite early at the knowledge that I wanted to teach but it took a few years for my confidence to build enough to undertake the challenge.

My passion is Vinyasa (flow), be it strong or gentle. I really enjoy the focus and meaning that the practice brings to my daily life. I continue the quest to be truly content in the present moment, to be intuitive and a student in all things.

Amrita Yoga is therefore a natural expression of this desire, it is a reminder for me to pause and be still, to allow space for joy to enter. I’m so lucky to have turned my passion into a career and look forward to sharing this lifestyle with you.

Training: RYS200 including pre-natal & post-natal, plus further trainings in seniors, injury clinic (yoga therapy), core stability and pelvic floor, yoga for lower back and sacroiliac stability (with Donna Farhi), accessible yoga / body positivity, tantra & sound healing.

I initially came to yoga in my late twenties after being “dragged” there by Naomi to help deal with stress. Over a period I developed a calmness in my yoga practise but also developed an ability to remain calm in an otherwise stressful job. I discovered there was much more to yoga on a very practical level. Strength, flexibility, lung capacity, energy levels, clearness of thought have all improved in my everyday life. The changes have been accumulated in a subtle way.

Having spent the last 10 years teaching mathematics I understand the fulfilment of sharing, learning and helping students. I look forward to doing the same with my other great passion of Yoga.

Hi, I’m Rach! I am a yoga student and teacher, a psychology student, and a massive Taylor Swift fan. (But I do promise Shake It Off won’t start playing during savasana!) I tend to spend my time studying, exploring nature, spending time with loved ones, and of course, teaching and practicing yoga. Yoga has been a huge part of my life for the past 4 years, having transformed my mental health and my relationship to my body.

My intention as a yoga teacher is to guide you into deep connection with yourself and others, by inviting you to slow down and tap into awareness. I teach a holistic and inclusive practice, integrating a balance of asana, meditation, pranayama and philosophy. In my Yin Flow classes at Amrita, I will be guiding you towards stillness and deep rest, with meditative movement and longer passive holds. I hope to see you in the studio, and leave you feeling restored and relaxed.
